Bahrain's Petro giant receives USD5bn bid


(MENAFN) Bahrain Petroleum Co. (Bapco) has delivered offers from global construction firms, involving consortiums led by Technip, Fluor and Japan's JGC.

Furthermore, the bids are to expand its Sitra oil refinery under its modernization program, which is predicted to cost almost USD5bn.

The Bapco Modernization Program is aimed at enhancing the processing capacity of the kingdom's oil refinery to 360.000 barrels per day.

In addition, those firms in the race involve consortiums covering Japan's JGC Corp. and S. Korea"s GS; Technip, Tecnicas Reunidas and Samsung Engineering.
