EduTraC Oman a platform to improve quality of human resources: H E Amri


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The third edition of the Higher Education, Training and Career Expo (EduTraC Oman) was officially inaugurated at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.

Organised by Al Nimr Expo, the event was inaugurated by H E Hamad bin Khamis al Amri, Undersecretary for Labour Affairs at the Ministry of Manpower.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by several officials from various ministries, local universities and colleges and professionals from the education sector. H E Amri said, 'Education not only helps us in progressing in life but also makes people aware of their rights and duties towards the nation. It provides many opportunities in various fields for the development of the country and also makes people independent, builds confidence and self-esteem. EduTraC Oman is a great event and is a great platform to improve the quality of human resources of Oman and build a better economy.'

He pointed out that the wide participation by international organisations as well as public and private institutes and training centres help provide training and employment opportunities. The establishment of the National Training Fund will contribute to enhance training, he added. Many categories will benefit from the fund especially job seekers. He noted that certain requirements should be met to build capacities of job seekers.

H E Amri said that all economic activities continue and the employment centres are working daily. The training centres are continuing their training and employment efforts in the private sector. The expo since its inception in 2014, has grown to bridge the gap between international higher education institutions and students in Oman planning to study abroad. The expo welcomes those interested in pursuing their higher education abroad to explore the variety of courses being offered and to meet representatives from universities, higher education institutions and English language course providers.

Visitors can meet leading local and international training institutes offering vocational, technical and occupational training programmes too. The expo also offer suitable job opportunities offered by public and private organisations operating in different sectors. The participating countries include the UK, US, Malaysia, Cyprus, India, Lebanon and Spain.
