(MENAFNEditorial) Seclore – the market leader in Enterprise Digital Rights Management (EDRM) – has hosted its first TechTalk event in Dubai for customers and prospects in the UAE. Senior management from Seclore briefed guests on the latest IT analyst views on EDRM, its latest US market survey showing the scale of the data security threat, and the company’s plans to grow the regional business through additional resources and technical support.
According to Seclore, interest in EDRM in the GCC region is rising strongly and Seclore is now committing additional technical and customer service support to sustain and accelerate this growth. The benefits of EDRM are clearly being seen now across a range of sectors, from banking and finance to manufacturing, telecoms to pharma, and the broader enterprise sector. The company expects EDRM to take a greater share of the increasing IT investment in the region, in 2016.
Seclore’s latest survey – Securing Information in the Age of External Collaboration* - concludes that more than 1 in 4 believes it's very likely sensitive data has been stolen by third party vendors. 98 percent of respondents cited the loss of sensitive data as a top or significant concern. Commonly stated reasons for data loss include emails sent to the wrong person (67 percent), unauthorized access (64 percent) and lost portable storage devices (61 percent). 28% of respondents thought it was ‘very likely’ that sensitive data had been stolen by partners, contractors or customers in the last 12 months.

Seclore’s EDRM solution allows users to control who can access a file, what the recipient can do with the file (view, edit, copy, print, screen share, run macros), from where (by device or IP address) and when. Seclore’s latest advances in policy federation and connectors enable organizations to seamlessly add EDRM to their existing ECM, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Enterprise File Synchronization and Sharing (EFSS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions to ensure files are secure as they are downloaded, discovered and shared.
Seclore’s EDRM solution was named one of the KMWorld Trend-Setting Products of 2016, recognising software products that break new territory in helping organizations achieve their knowledge management goals.
“Clearly, cybersecurity is no longer just an IT issue, if it ever was, and cyber incidents can damage every aspect of a business, from its physical and financial assets, to its brand and reputation,” adds Amit Malhotra. “So, it’s crucial that cybersecurity is assessed, managed, and monitored like any other business risk. This means a governance structure that goes right up to Board level, as well as active oversight from the Board.
