Inspectors detect food stored improperly


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Inspectors from the Health Control Section at Doha Municipality detected a violation yesterday evening when they found foodstuff - meant for a restaurant - stored in a workers"; accommodation unit in the Fereej Kulaib area of Doha.
A violation report was accordingly issued and the offenders were referred to the Public Prosecution for necessary legal action.
The inspectors found chicken, fish and meat stored at the above-mentioned place without details such as their expiry date and source, while some changes also seemed to have taken place in the physical attributes of these products, according to a press statement.
The items, prepared and stored in unhygienic conditions, were found unfit for human consumption and constituted a violation of food control regulations.
The General Control Section at Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality conducted a campaign to find and remove abandoned vehicles from August 1 until September 11. The campaign resulted in the removal of several such vehicles.
The Beaches and Islands Section at the General Cleanliness Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) removed a sunken boat that was stuck in a platform at Al Khor beach. It was taken to the designated place and destroyed. In addition, some discarded wooden planks and iron bars were also removed from the port.
The Cleaning Section at Al Daayen Municipality conducted an intensive campaign against rodents and insects during Eid al-Adha. The initiative covered 61 mosques and prayers yards, four gardens and seven government and residential buildings. Besides, livestock remains were treated with insecticides at 1,930 garbage containers and 29 other sites.
Meanwhile, the Building Permits Section at Al Rayyan Municipality issued 224 building permits in August in addition to 28 maintenance permits, 602 advertisement licences and 108 permits for digging. Some 3,011 files were processed electronically during this period.
The MME also tweeted yesterday that the Al Khor environmental patrols found waste being dumped from a truck at an undesignated site and took necessary action against the violator.
Action was also taken against offenders for an environment violation.
