China's rail giants to provide Malaysia with 30 light rails


(MENAFN) China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Corporation Ltd. (CSR), signed a contract with a Malaysian company to supply 30 Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) for Malaysia Ampang Line, Xinhua reported.

This is CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd's (CSR ZELC) second project of mass transit vehicles for Malaysia, and the new LRVs are three-car trains with designed maximum speed of 80 km/h.

The first phase of the construction of the manufacturing base will be completed by the end of 2014, when it will be able to produce 150 new vehicles per year and overhaul 100 vehicles per year.
