Oman Arab Bank supports food safety exhibition and conference


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman Arab Bank (OAB) has sponsored the Food Safety Exhibition and Conference, which was recently held at Al Bustan Palace Hotel, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, and organised by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, in association with the ministries of Commerce and Industry, Agriculture and Fisheries, Health, ROP, Sultan Qaboos University, The Research Council, The Public Authority for Consumer Protection, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Muscat Municipality, with the participation of a group of experts concerned with food safety

 The conference was inaugurated by H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Obaid al Saeedi, Minister of Health, in the presence of H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed al Shuhi, Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, and a number of dignitaries, with strong participation from the relevant authorities concerned with food. The conference aimed at tackling various food safety challenges and discussed the latest issues facing the food industry.

The conference also focused on the growing concerns over food safety and quality, and enhancing the cooperation and collaboration between the government and food business operators, in order to improve food safety practices in the country, in addition to enhance consumer awareness in relation to food safety and health.

Oman Arab Bank's participation in this conference further demonstrates its emphasis towards the development and financing of the different local industries as a partner in the development process, particularly in the industries relating to the Omani consumer.
