Fire kills three Syrian women in refugee camp in Lebanon

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BEIRUT, Dec 1 (KUNA) -- At least three Syrian women were killed in a fire which broke out on Friday in a refugee camp in Akkar district, north of Lebanon.

Lebanese civil defense teams rushed to the camp so as to extinguish the blaze, said National News Agency (NNA) today.

Some camps have witnessed similar incidents over the last period that led to the killing and wounding of some Syrian refugees.

Fire usually breaks out in winter as Syrian refuges use fuel and wood for warming to face harsh conditions in this season.

A large number of Syrian refugees are living in random camps set up around villages and towns in the countryside that lack the minimum level of safety. (end) wsm.hm
