Christina Philippou

Christina is an Associate Professor in Accounting and Sport Finance at the University of Portsmouth.
Christina's background is in practice as a forensic accountant for a Big Four firm and, prior to that, in audit. Her research and teaching are focused on financial accounting, forensic accounting, economic crime, and governance, particularly in relation to sport. She has undertaken football finance research for the government, and advised policymakers on sport finance and governance. She has taught or led training for organisations ranging from the Premier League (football finance and governance) to the Inner Temple (advocacy). She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Fellow of the HEA.
