Textiles Ministry, ICRIER Partner For Evidence-Based Policy Support In Textile Sector


(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, May 15 (KNN) The Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) to strengthen research-driven policymaking and data analysis in the textile and apparel sector.

The MoU was signed by Akhilesh Kumar on behalf of the Ministry of Textiles and Shekhar Aiyar representing ICRIER.

The collaboration aims to support the development of data-backed and analytically informed policies for India's textile and apparel industry.

Under the partnership, ICRIER will provide technical assistance, research inputs and policy-oriented analysis to strengthen textile sector data systems and support evidence-based decision-making.

The Ministry said the initiative reflects the government's focus on strengthening policy formulation for the textile and apparel sector, which continues to play a significant role in India's manufacturing, exports and employment generation.
