Pakistan Confirms Return of Seafarers Held by U.S.
(MENAFN) Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar announced Friday that Islamabad has successfully brought home Pakistani and Iranian crew members from vessels detained by the United States in waters near Singapore.
In a statement posted to social media, Dar confirmed the safe return of 11 Pakistani nationals along with 20 Iranian citizens, all repatriated through Singapore.
The seafarers transited through Bangkok from Singapore before boarding a flight bound for Islamabad, expected to land later that same Friday, Dar said.
Pakistan will also coordinate the onward repatriation of the Iranian nationals back to their home country, he added.
Dar extended his gratitude to the governments of Singapore, Thailand, and the United States for their cooperation and logistical support throughout the repatriation effort.
