Dr Madeleine Pownall is a feminist social psychologist and Associate Professor in the School of Psychology at the University of Leeds. Her research focuses on feminist psychology, gender inequality, open science, teaching and learning, and Higher Education. She is known for work on inclusive teaching practices, psychological literacy, and improving transparency in psychological science. She is also co-author of A Feminist Companion to Social Psychology (Open University Press, 2021) and Absent Minds (Headline Press, 2026).
