Israelis Near Gaza Accuse Army of Altering October 7 Surveillance Footage
(MENAFN) According to reports, residents in Israeli settlements near the Gaza Strip have accused the Israeli military of seizing and altering private surveillance recordings related to the events of October 7, 2023.
Local media reported growing anger among residents, who claim that footage taken from security cameras was later returned incomplete or intentionally modified. Officials continue to describe the October 7 attacks as a major intelligence and military failure that significantly affected Israel’s international image.
A report in an Israeli daily stated that some residents along the Gaza border believe that parts of their surveillance recordings from October 7 were deleted by the army. It also said that a reserve military unit entered Kibbutz Be’eri on October 9, 2023, and confiscated camera footage, citing an urgent need connected to hostage recovery operations.
The report further noted that some of the recovered material was later broadcast without the consent of those involved.
According to reports, tensions have grown among affected communities as questions persist over how the recordings were handled and used in the aftermath of the incident.
