Clean Water Projects Expand Access in Afghanistan’s Kunar Province

(MENAFN) In eastern Afghanistan, construction has been completed on 15 new water supply networks in Kunar Province, and the systems have now been officially brought into service, according to reports.

The projects, which required a total investment of around 54 million afghanis (approximately 843,000 U.S. dollars), are designed to significantly improve access to safe drinking water for local communities. Officials noted that the newly operational systems are expected to benefit nearly 7,600 households as well as about 4,500 students across the province.

As stated by reports, local authorities emphasized that the completion of these networks will help expand access to clean water, strengthen public health conditions, and ease long-standing shortages in essential services in the affected areas.
