Trump Threatens to Strike Anyone Nearing Iran's Nuclear Site
(MENAFN) The United States has Iran's nuclear materials under close watch and is prepared to use lethal force against any party attempting to reach them, President Donald Trump warned in a televised interview released Sunday.
Speaking to journalist Sharyl Attkisson in an interview recorded earlier this week, Trump stated that US forces are positioned to seize the materials on demand.
"We'll get that at some point. Whenever we want. We have it surveilled," he said.
Trump credited the military's Space Force program for enabling unprecedented surveillance precision at the site. "I did a thing called Space Force. If somebody walked in, they can tell you his name, his address, the number of his badge. No, we have that very well surveilled," he added.
The president issued a stark warning to any potential intruders, stating that if anyone "got near the place, we will know about it and we'll blow them up."
On the broader US-Israeli military campaign against Iran — which erupted on Feb. 28 — Trump asserted that the scale of destruction inflicted would set Iranian reconstruction efforts back roughly 20 years. He acknowledged that while Iran had been significantly degraded, it had not been fully neutralized, noting the US had struck "probably 70%" of its intended targets.
"We could go in for two more weeks and do every single target," he said.
Trump framed nuclear containment as non-negotiable. "We cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon because they're crazy. We cannot let them have access to nuclear," he declared.
Separately, Iran on Sunday transmitted its formal response to Washington's latest ceasefire proposal through Pakistani mediators. With active hostilities currently suspended, diplomatic efforts are intensifying to forge a permanent resolution — one that would guarantee safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and forestall any resumption of conflict.
