Mohammad Jamil Ahmad (MJ) is an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems (MIS) at John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in cybersecurity and MIS. He is the recipient of the 2024–2025 College Award of Distinction in Teaching John Chambers College of Business and Economics.

Dr. Ahmad has served in a variety of teaching roles at WVU, including the Business Cybersecurity Management program, the Department of Computer Science, and WVU Institute of Technology.

His research focuses on the interdisciplinary applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence in software reliability, cybersecurity, natural language processing, and financial technology (FinTech). He pays particular attention to the analysis, classification, and detection of software defects and vulnerabilities. His work has been published in Empirical Software Engineering and presented at IEEE conferences.

Before and during his Ph.D., Dr. Ahmad worked with educational, governmental, private, and non-profit organizations in Palestine, Jordan, the UAE, Qatar, and the United States. He has more than fifteen years of experience in the fields of information technology, computer science, and higher education.
