Poll Shows Support for Germany’s AfD Reached Record High

(MENAFN) Public backing for Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has reached a new peak, according to a recent opinion survey, as reported by polling data released on Saturday.

The survey indicates that the party’s support rose to 28 percent, marking its highest level to date and reflecting a slight increase from the previous week. The results suggest that it continues to lead among political parties in Germany.

Other major parties showed relatively stable figures. The conservative bloc known as the Union remained steady at 24 percent. Meanwhile, the Social Democratic Party, which is part of the current governing coalition with the Union, held at 14 percent.

Elsewhere in the political landscape, the Greens experienced a small decline, slipping by one point to 12 percent. The Left Party maintained its position at 11 percent, showing no change from the previous survey.

Overall, the findings point to a shifting political balance in Germany, with some parties holding steady while others see gradual changes in public support.
