Jordan, Saudi Arabia Reaffirm Solidarity Against Iranian Attacks

(MENAFN) On Monday, the foreign ministers of Jordan and Saudi Arabia reiterated their “absolute solidarity” in response to Iranian assaults targeting nations in the region.

According to reports, Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met in Riyadh with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan. During their talks, both officials expressed support for Arab countries facing Iranian aggression, highlighting their right to take defensive measures under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

The discussions also explored ways to end the “dangerous escalation in the region on the basis of guaranteeing security and stability, respecting the sovereignty of states, and preventing a recurrence of Iranian attacks,” as stated by reports.

Additionally, the ministers stressed the importance of stabilizing the situation in the Gaza Strip and ensuring that humanitarian aid can reach the Palestinian territory without obstruction.

The diplomats further underscored the need for coordinated regional and global efforts to stop unlawful Israeli actions that exacerbate tensions and threaten the viability of a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
