How Ras Al Khaimah Airport Expanded International Flights To 16 Countries In 2025
Ras Al Khaimah International Airport has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing the one-million-passenger mark last year by welcoming 1.3 million travellers. The milestone underscores the airport's rapid growth and its emergence as a key regional air travel hub.
The airport has also expanded its network of scheduled international flights to 16 destinations, including India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Egypt. Exceeding one million passengers signals the airport's transition from a medium-sized facility to a major airport, reflecting the success of its operational and development strategies.

Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Civil Aviation Authority and the airport, said the achievement demonstrates the effectiveness of the airport's strategy.“It reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing infrastructure, operational readiness, and security, while providing passengers with a seamless travel experience in line with international standards,” he said.
The Civil Aviation Authority also supported growth through initiatives such as launching a Drone Management System (DMS), forming strategic partnerships with civil aviation authorities in Dubai and Fujairah, and organising awareness workshops and social media campaigns for stakeholders and the community.
Other measures included activating airport alert systems, managing aircraft movements, implementing airport data dashboards, and monitoring key performance indicators. All planned objectives were met, and the airport renewed global ISO certifications in environment, innovation, business continuity, and quality, with no recorded violations.
The authority was named first runner-up in the Arab Award for Social Responsibility and Sustainability in the small government entity category and launched the first experimental flight of an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft in partnership with the Chinese company XPENG AEROHT.
Operationally, the airport recorded strong growth compared to the previous year, with a 14 per cent increase in destinations, a 51 per cent rise in passengers, and a 37 per cent growth in flight movements. Net profits improved by 29.4 per cent, highlighting the airport's ability to achieve sustainable growth while maintaining high-quality services.
Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi credited these achievements to the leadership of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and the oversight of Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council, which have fostered innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence.
These accomplishments solidify Ras Al Khaimah International Airport's position as a regional air connectivity hub, supporting the emirate's tourism, commerce, and economic growth.
