Guernsey investors agree to acquire major Jersey hospitality business
(MENAFN) A group of investors based in Guernsey has purchased one of Jersey’s most established hospitality companies.
JPRestaurants—operator of Banjo, Oyster Box, and Jersey Crab Shack—has been acquired by CI Hospitality Limited for an undisclosed amount. The same consortium previously bought Randalls, a firm that produces Breda beer and manages more than 20 pubs, hotels, restaurants, and shops across Guernsey, Alderney, and Sark.
JPRestaurants confirmed that all of its venues will continue to run as usual under the new ownership. In a statement, the company said the investment would “support the long-term future” of its brands, with an emphasis on preserving the heritage and character of each site while introducing “enhancements” to keep them fresh.
Managing director Robert Jones noted that he will remain the company’s “only other shareholder” and retain a “significant” stake. He remarked, “In 2027, we will have been delighting islanders and visitors for 80 years and this new partnership brings a real opportunity to build on that legacy.”
Jones added that the deal would help the business adapt to Jersey’s evolving dining scene while continuing to deliver the experiences customers value. He emphasized that loyal patrons can expect the same welcoming teams and iconic locations, alongside carefully planned updates designed to keep the venues vibrant and engaging.
