'Children Feel Everything': Nancy Ajram On 'Dolphin Boy 2' And Singing For Young Fans

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)

Before the red carpet lights came on at Reel Cinemas, Dubai Mall, Nancy Ajram had already won over her toughest critics, the young ones. The Lebanese superstar spent time at KidZania, interacting with young fans ahead of the Dubai premiere of Dolphin Boy 2, a family-friendly animated adventure that features her voice and music. By the time she arrived at the cinema, cheering fans had gathered in droves, eager to catch a glimpse of one of the Arab world's most influential voices.

Ajram is part of the film's Egyptian-dubbed version, Batal Al-Dalapheen (Dolphin Boy 2), contributing two original songs, Maa Ashabna and Ana Shora Leek, that play a key role in the film's emotional core. Speaking to us just before walking the red carpet, the singer reflected on why the project resonated with her, the challenge of creating music for children, her long-standing connection with animation, and her love for Dubai:

How was the experience working on the film Dolphin Boy 2 ?

For me, the experience means singing songs for a film. I loved the film, but I especially loved the songs. Just hearing the songs made me connect with them. The two songs from the film Dolphin Hero really touched me from the first time I heard them. Of course, they are the work of the talented creators Tamer Hussein and Ahmed Adel. I really love working with them. The songs were beautiful from the first listen, they affected me deeply, and I decided to sing them.

Was it a simple experience, mainly because it is an animation? And, was it your first time doing this?

I am used to singing for children in particular, and animation is not my first experience. But I always love taking part in this kind of work because I feel it suits me. Everything about the project was beautiful. I loved the film, I loved the story, I loved the songs, and I loved being part of it. So, of course, I would accept such an offer.

Some say that writing or singing for children is one of the hardest forms of art...

I agree. It is difficult because children are pure and honest, they only respond to what they truly feel. When they love something, they love it sincerely, from the first moment and the first time they hear it. That makes it a real challenge.

Tell us about your upcoming projects.

As for upcoming projects, of course, there are new music videos, new songs for the album, and I am always preparing for new work, songs, concerts, and projects, as usual.

Describe your relationship with Dubai.

I love Dubai very much, coming here, and all the events happening in this wonderful city, which is constantly developing. We can see the progress month by month. We all truly enjoy coming to Dubai.
