Euro Area Annual Inflation Drops To 2.0 Pct In December

BRUSSELS, Jan 7 (KUNA) -- The European statistical office (Eurostat) announced on Wednesday that the annual inflation rate in the euro area dropped to 2.0 percent in December 2025, compared to 2.1 percent in November, according to its preliminary estimates.
Eurostat indicated in its report that the services sector recorded the highest annual inflation rate in December at 4.3 percent, compared with 3.5 percent in November, followed by the food, alcohol and tobacco sector at 2.6 percent, compared with 2.4 percent in the previous month.
In contrast, non-energy industrial goods registered an increase of 0.4 percent in December compared with 0.5 percent in November, while the energy sector continued to decline, recording a decrease of -1.9 percent compared with a drop of -0.5 percent in November. (end)
