DMC Urges Public To Stay Away From Areas Affected By Recent Disasters
DMC Director Pradeep Kodippili noted that fast-moving water bodies pose serious risks, and advised citizens not to swim or enter rivers and streams with heightened flow levels.
He confirmed that support operations for impacted residents are continuing, and encouraged the public to report concerns or requests for assistance through the 117 emergency line.
Kodippili also highlighted that continuous rainfall has left the ground highly unstable, increasing the possibility of earth slips. He stressed the importance of paying close attention to official alerts, urging families to relocate immediately whenever a high-risk warning is announced.
The Director also expressed gratitude to the rescue and humanitarian teams deployed from India and Pakistan, acknowledging their contributions during this challenging period.
Addressing journalists, he underscored that all relief distribution must be coordinated properly through the respective District Secretaries to ensure orderly and efficient delivery.
