Kremlin Hails US Mediation, Pushes For Future World Order Ahead Of Putin's India Trip
In the days leading up to Russian President Vladimir Putin's consequential two-day state visit to India, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters in New Delhi that US mediation to bring peace in Ukraine is proving effective, and his office hopes it will be fruitful.
“We appreciate the efforts of President Trump (of the US). We want to secure the future order,” he said on Tuesday, joining virtually just hours before President Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, was set to visit Moscow.
“We are against Ukraine's membership in NATO. We are against the deployment of NATO personnel in Ukraine,” Peskov clarified loudly and clearly.
The stabilisation of the world, currency trade with Russia, various payment methods, and the sale of Russian defense as well as air defense systems are expected to be key topics on the agenda. Alexey Likhachev, the head of Rosatom and a member of the presidential contingent, will bring with him a small and highly flexible nuclear reactor, due to growing excitement about this Russian invention described the SU-57 as“the best plane in the world,” noting that the possibility of procuring the SU-57 will be discussed during President Putin's visit to India.
“Some of the competitors are not adhering to international business laws,” he added.
On being asked about Afghanistan, Peskov emphasized Russia's ties with the Taliban authorities, recalling the assistance Russian troops provided at the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan border upon request.
The S-400 missile defense system will also be discussed during the visit, and will be mentioned at the highest level.“Our military industry works very well. We've managed to expand the volume... The share of Russian arms in India is 36%,” Peskov said.
Regarding American pressure on India over the procurement of Russian discounted crude oil, Peskov stated,“It's a bilateral issue between India and the US.”
A suave diplomat Peskov's father, Sergey Nikolaevich Peskov, served as Russia's Ambassador to Pakistan from 2005 to 2009.
