Amman, Nov. 19 (Petra) Al-Bashir Hospitals announced a medical milestone achieved by the Obstetrics and Gynecology team at the Women and Children's Hospital, led by specialist Dr. Ammar Hamam, performing the first laparoscopic abdominal cervical cerclage (Laparoscopic Abdominal Cerclage) in the Ministry of Health hospitals.
According to a statement released Wednesday, the procedure, considered rare globally, requires exceptional expertise and precision. Follow-up during the pregnancy confirmed full success of the operation, with the patient reaching the ninth month without complications and delivering a healthy 3-kg baby.
The statement highlighted that this achievement reflects the advanced level of care at Al-Bashir Hospital, demonstrating their ability to provide specialized medical services on par with leading global centers, emphasizing that excellence has become a standard practice across their healthcare system.
