Iraq's Legislative Election Records 55 Pct Turnout


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, Nov 11 (KUNA) -- The voter turnout in Iraq's parliamentary elections has surpassed 55 percent after counting 99.7 percent of votes, the Independent High Electoral Commission said on Tuesday.
About 11 million voters out of over 20,000,000 have voted, the commission said in a report.
The armed forces' turnout in Monday's voting hit 82.5 percent, reaching 1,08 million out of 1,3 million, it stated.
The number of total voters exceeded 12 million out of 21, it said, concluding the poll later in the day nationwide.
The initial results are scheduled to be announced before 6:00 p.m. (local time) on Wednesday. (pickup previous)
