U.S. Pres. Expects Int'l Force Deployment In Gaza Very Soon
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
WASHINGTON, Nov 7 (KUNA) -- U.S. President Donald Trump said he expects a U.S.-coordinated international stabilization force to be on the ground in Gaza "very soon", considering that the situation Gaza is "very well".
"It's going to be very soon. And Gaza is working out very well," Trump said to reporters at the White House on Thursday evening, adding that several countries had promised to intervene in case there is a problem.
"You haven't been hearing too much about problems, and I'll tell you, we've had countries that have volunteered if there's a problem with Hamas," he said.
The multinational force is part of the U.S. president's post-war governance plan for Gaza.
On Wednesday, the U.S. circulated a draft UN Security Council resolution to partner nations aimed at shoring up Trump's plan, including by greenlighting the international force. (end)
