JKAS Officer Files ₹7 Cr Defamation Suit Against Reporter

Jammu- In a high-profile defamation row, Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officer Zakir Hussain Wani has filed a ₹7 crore civil suit against journalist Tousif Kraipak, alleging that the latter circulated defamatory content on social media and other public platforms.
Wani claims the posts were“baseless, malicious, and intended to tarnish his professional image”, causing him severe mental anguish and undermining his public reputation as a government officer.
The suit seeks ₹7 crore in damages, permanent removal of the alleged defamatory material, and an injunction restraining Kraipak from making further derogatory remarks.
