Doha: Doha Forum hosted a high-level panel discussion at the Second World Summit for Social Development 2025 in Doha, exploring how justice can move from principle to practice to strengthen fairness, accountability and inclusion across global governance systems.

Titled“Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress,” the session reflected the core objectives of the World Social Summit - eradicating poverty, ensuring full and productive employment for all, and promoting social inclusion.

Drawing on insights from the Future of International Cooperation Report (FIC'25) 2025, produced by Doha Forum in collaboration with the Stimson Centre and the Global Institute for Strategic Research at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), the discussion explored collective efforts to bridge the global justice gap across political, socioeconomic, and environmental dimensions. Panelists highlighted innovative policy and institutional reforms aimed at advancing fairness, inclusion, and accountability worldwide.

The panel brought together leading voices and experts including: Sylvie Maalouf, Programs Manager, Policy Hub, Qatar Foundation (Moderator); Dr. Richard Ponzio, Director, Global Governance, Justice & Security Program, Stimson Centre, and Co-Director, Global Governance Innovation Network; Iqra Ahmed Khattak, Researcher, Future of International Cooperation Report 2025, Hamad Bin Khalifa University; Daouia Chalali, Project Lead, Future Generations, and Foresight Practitioner, UN University Centre for Policy Research; Hassan Nasser, Special Envoy for Multilateral Affairs, Digital Cooperation Organization.

Emphasizing the importance of collaboration in advancing fairness and accountability, Maha Al Kuwari, General Manager of Doha Forum, said:“Justice is the cornerstone of sustainable governance and inclusive societies. Our task now is to turn dialogue into decisions, and research into results. Doha Forum bridges that gap by uniting global partners committed to translating cooperation into measurable progress.”

Speaking on the collaboration, Brian Finlay, President and CEO of the Stimson Centre, added:“This report offers practical principles to reimagine governance so that institutions serve all people more equitably. The Stimson Centre is proud to work with partners worldwide to ensure that global cooperation delivers real results for communities most in need.”

Doha Forum's participation in the World Social Summit reinforces its commitment to year-round engagement that bridges research and policy, fostering inclusive collaboration among global partners. The 23rd edition of Doha Forum will take place in Doha from December 6-7, 2025, under the theme“Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress.”
