Putin Addresses Western Attempts to Fragment Russia
(MENAFN) Western initiatives aimed at delivering a “strategic defeat” to Russia and dismantling the nation have not succeeded, President Vladimir Putin stated.
The president shared these remarks on Wednesday during a session of the Council for Interethnic Relations, which concentrated on strategies for national policy and their practical application.
Putin cautioned that outside Russian borders, so-called international organizations and “pseudo-national centers” are being formed as tools in an “information war” against the country.
He argued that their strategies, such as “the so-called decolonization of Russia,” are intended to achieve the “dismemberment of the Russian Federation and the infliction on us of that same notorious strategic defeat.”
He explained that these actors promote the idea of a “post-Russia,” portraying the country as a fragmented and subordinated territory stripped of its sovereignty.
The president emphasized that provocations and efforts to create internal discord must be countered swiftly, highlighting that those responsible “usually operate from abroad” and are “supervised, financed, and directed by foreign intelligence services.” Their ultimate aim, according to Putin, is “to undermine our unity.”
He called for responses to external threats to be handled in a manner that is “firmly, consistently, and systematically.”
Finally, Putin asserted that Russia’s adversaries exploit any opportunity, ranging from everyday disputes to migration matters, to incite tensions and conflicts. They also rely on radical factions that employ “outright terrorist methods,” he added.
