Russian Strikes Target Ukrainian Defense Installations

(MENAFN) Russian Defense Ministry announced Wednesday that its military forces targeted Ukrainian defense installations and thwarted multiple counteroffensive attempts across Ukraine during the previous 24-hour period.

According to the ministry's official statement, Russian strikes hit energy grids, transportation networks, a facility producing unmanned aerial vehicles, munitions storage sites, and personnel gatherings across 142 separate locations throughout the day.

"Air defense forces also shot down one guided aerial bomb, four rockets launched by the U.S.-made HIMARS weapon system, and 123 fixed-wing drones," the ministry said.

The ministry reported that in the Donetsk region, Russian troops successfully pushed back 12 Ukrainian counteroffensive operations, blocking Ukrainian military units from escaping encircled positions. Russian forces have reportedly seized additional territory and strengthened their tactical positions along the front lines.

"Ukrainian forces in this region are suffering heavy losses amid Russian strikes and advances, leaving no options but voluntary surrender," the ministry said.

The claims made by Russian Defense Ministry could not be independently verified at the time of publication.
