Russians Strike Sloviansk TPP, Leaving Dead And Wounded Zelensky
"A few hours ago, there was a strike on the Sloviansk Thermal Power Plant - a strike with Russian bombs. Sadly, two people were killed. My condolences. There are also wounded. This is outright terror. Normal people don't wage war like this, and the world must respond appropriately to such Russian warfare," Zelensky said.
He recalled that Ukrainian energy workers have been working all day - from Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv regions to Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsia - to eliminate the consequences of Russia's attacks on the energy sector.
"The strike was complex - a combined, deliberately calculated one, designed to make it difficult to counter. There were missiles as well, including ballistic and air-launched ballistic types. In total, 52 missiles and more than 600 strike drones were launched, about 400 of them were Shaheds. Most of the drones were neutralized, and two-thirds of the missiles were also shot down. Ukraine's air defense is saving a significant part of our infrastructure," Zelensky said.
He expressed gratitude to everyone involved in eliminating the aftermath of the attacks - repair crews, utility services, energy companies, and the State Emergency Service.
Zelensky stressed that partner support in the energy sector is extremely important. In particular, there are specific agreements with Norway to support gas purchases, as well as agreements with Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands, with which Ukraine is cooperating on power generation equipment. The head of state also noted that he counts on the support of the European Commission.

We are ensuring such cooperation with them," he added.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russia carried out a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure overnight and in the morning. Targets included facilities in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
