Minister Of Digital Economy Receives Syrian Post Delegation To Discuss Cooperation In Digital, Postal Services

Amman, Oct. 30 (Petra)-- Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Samirat, received the Director General of the Syrian Post Corporation, Imad Al-Din Hamad, and his accompanying delegation during their official visit to Jordan Post.
According to a statement issued by the ministry on Thursday, the two sides discussed potential areas of cooperation in digital postal services, e-commerce, and postal connectivity between the two countries, in addition to exploring opportunities to enhance logistics services and exchange technical and administrative expertise in this vital sector.
Minister Samirat emphasized the importance of cooperation and experience-sharing between Jordan and Syria in the fields of the digital economy and postal services, noting that Jordan has made significant progress in developing its national postal system to align with the transition toward digital services. He added that these efforts have improved operational efficiency and the quality of services provided to citizens.
For his part, Hamad praised the progress witnessed in Jordan's postal sector and the efforts undertaken to advance digital and logistical services, expressing his eagerness to strengthen technical cooperation and exchange expertise with Jordan Post.
The statement noted that the Syrian delegation's visit aims to learn from Jordan Post's experience in electronic financial and postal services, digital platforms, and digital transformation processes. The visit was attended by the ministry's Secretary-General, Samira Al-Zoubi, and the Director General of Jordan Post, Hanadi Al-Tayyib. It also seeks to explore Jordan's approach to developing postal services and adopting digital solutions, while enhancing frameworks for joint cooperation in this key sector.
