Arab-Brazilian Chamber Awarded For Halal Study

(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – The Market Intelligence Department of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC ) placed 4th in the paper awards at the Halal Technical-Scientific Congress (CTec Halal), held earlier this week at the WTC Events Center in São Paulo, organized by the International Halal Academy (IHA).

The study,“The Relationship Between Brazil and Arab Countries in the Food Sector: A Strategic Perspective with Expansion Potential,” was prepared by the ABCC's Market Intelligence manager, business administrator Marcus Vinicius, who holds an MBA in Foreign Trade and International Relations, and by the department's economics specialist, economist Sotirios Denis Ghinis.

The paper presented was an excerpt of about 10 pages from a larger study on the subject, in which Vinicius and Ghinis outline the food sector in Arab countries, local production in the region, import dependence, and consumption. The original study was designed to guide businesspeople. Vinicius expressed his happiness with the award, noting that it validates the work of his department.

The manager highlighted the high quality of the studies presented and the fact that they were evaluated by experts in the field. The IHA formed a scientific evaluation committee, composed of market specialists and academics, to assess the submitted papers. A total of 44 studies were submitted, and the authors of 12 were invited to present their findings on stage during the CTec Halal.

The paper“Relationship between Liveliness and Bioelectricity/Clinical Death and Bioelectric Death after Stunning in Poultry,” by Norton Nader, Adel Yahya, Thielo de la Vieja, Luciana Vieira Piza, and Ernane José Xavier Costa, took first place at CTec Halal.

Second place went to Cristina Thomaz, with“The Brazilian Media's Perspective on the Halal Market: An Analysis of Press Coverage in the First Half of 2025,” and third place to Ana Carolina Duarte Dias, with the study“Presence and Visibility of Halal Products in Supermarkets: An Exploratory Analysis.”

The CTec Halal took place on the same days and venue as the Global Halal Brazil Business Forum (GHB), organized by FAMBRAS Halal, a partner of the IHA, and the ABCC, but during a different session.

CTec Halal ocorreu nos mesmos dias e local, mas em turno diferente, que o Global Halal Brazil Business Forum (GHB), promovido pela Fambras Halal, parceira da IHA, e pela Câmara de Comércio Árabe Brasileira.
