Israel Kills Three Palestinians in Occupied West Bank
(MENAFN) Three Palestinians were killed in the northern occupied West Bank’s Jenin governorate after being hit by Israeli gunfire and an airstrike, local media reported.
A Palestinian news outlet, citing local sources, said Israeli forces launched a raid on the town of Kafr Qud, bringing in military reinforcements, encircling agricultural land, and opening fire on three young men.
The outlet reported that Israeli troops took possession of the bodies of the deceased Palestinians, whose identities have not yet been revealed.
After the initial shooting, the Israeli military targeted a vehicle in the same vicinity, igniting a fire that also destroyed several olive trees, according to the outlet.
“Earlier on Tuesday, witnesses told media they heard gunfire near Kafr Qud, followed by an Israeli airstrike on a cave and a vehicle in the same area. They added that Israeli forces removed the bodies from the site.
The Israeli army confirmed the attack, saying it targeted "a terrorist cell." It said three people were killed, including one in the airstrike, and one was injured.
A correspondent noted that this marks the first Israeli airstrike in the occupied West Bank in nine months.
Since January, the Israeli military has carried out extensive operations in northern West Bank refugee camps, resulting in numerous Palestinian casualties, the displacement of residents, and widespread damage to homes and infrastructure.
Israeli operations have surged across the occupied West Bank since October 2023, with Palestinian sources reporting more than 1,059 killed and 10,300 injured.
