India clinched the 17th Asia Cup crown with a clinical five-wicket win over Pakistan in the final at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Batting first, Pakistan managed 147 runs before being bowled out in 19.1 overs. Indian bowlers maintained relentless pressure, restricting the scoring opportunities of their opponents.
Chasing the modest target, India delivered a measured performance. Despite losing five wickets, the team comfortably crossed the line in 19.4 overs to secure the championship.
The victory marked India's ninth Asia Cup title, underscoring their dominance in the continental tournament. Pakistan finished as runners-up, while Afghanistan exited in the group stage.
Cricketing experts observed that India's combination of disciplined bowling and steady batting proved decisive in the final. Fans across the country celebrated the win, hailing it as a morale booster ahead of upcoming global fixtures.
The contest also reaffirmed the enduring intensity of the India-Pakistan rivalry, which continues to command worldwide attention and remain a central attraction in Asian cricket.
The 2025 edition of the Asia Cup began on 9 September in the United Arab Emirates with eight participating teams. Since its inception in 1984, the tournament has remained one of Asia's premier cricketing events.
