Defense Forces Conduct Active Counteroffensive Operations And Achieve Success - Syrskyi

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was reported by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi during a conversation with journalists.

"As for the overall situation on the front line, it remains difficult. The enemy continues to advance in the main directions, particularly in the Pokrovsk and Dobropillia sectors. The situation remains tense in the Lyman and Novopavlivka sectors as well. In other sectors, there are low-intensity combat operations. Overall, the situation is under our control. We have had some success recently," Syrskyi emphasized.

He also reported that the enemy's offensive group has a total manpower of about 712,000 people and that the active front is almost 1,250 km long. Over the past year, this front has grown by approximately 200 km. Additionally, there are another 2,400 kilometers where no combat activity is observed, but troops must still be stationed there.

The Commander-in-Chief noted that Defense Forces, on average, conduct 160 to 190 combat clashes and 15 to 20 assault operations daily.

"In other words, we are continuing our tactics of active counteroffensive and defensive actions. This prevents the enemy from gaining the initiative. It also enables us to maneuver our forces and resources, focusing our main efforts on problem areas," said Syrsky.

He also noted that the enemy uses about twice as many artillery shells. However, the Defense Forces compensate for this with the accuracy of their strikes, reconnaissance, and the destruction of the enemy's most important targets.

As reported by Ukrinform, on September 21, Ukrainian troops regained control of 1.3 km2 and conducted a search and destroy operation against the enemy on an area of 2.1 km2 in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region.
