LONDON - Global agency Team Lewis has acquired the UK division of Instinctif Partners for an undisclosed sum, as the latest move in its plans to develop its proposition into capital markets, public policy, global corporate communications and sustainability reporting.
The addition of Instinctif's 60-strong team doubles the size of Team Lewis' UK operation to 150, as well as enhancing their combined experience in sectors such as technology, automotive, defence, energy, financial services, leisure and property, underpinned by horizontal practice areas including crisis preparedness, strategy and planning, and innovation.
The combined business will integrate into the agency's network of 26 offices worldwide, with the Instinctif brand being retained in the near-term.
Team Lewis CEO Chris Lewis (pictured) told PRovoke Media the deal gave the agency“a foothold in the City”, as well as giving Instinctif clients access to broader brand strategy, PR, digital marketing, creative, AI and technology services.
He added:“This is another step in our strategy to grow and develop following the opening of our London HQ in Battersea last year. The move doubles the size of our UK operation and adds 15% growth to the group. It also brings 200 new clients to our existing 500 clients worldwide.” Last year, Team Lewis reported global fee income of more than $70 million, putting it in the top 50 firms worldwide, according to PRovoke Media's Global 250 ranking .
Asked if there would be any redundancies as a result of the acquisition, Lewis said:“Our immediate focus will be to ensure a smooth transition.”
And Lewis confirmed that there were more acquisitions in the pipeline, saying:“We are in discussion with others.”
Instinctif CEO Julian Walker, who will report to Team Lewis COO Yvonne van Bokhoven, said:“Our shared vision and passion for creativity, collaboration and impact makes this is an exciting new chapter as we look to build on our expertise in capital and public markets. Together, Team Lewis will enable accelerated growth and facilitate the delivery of even more innovative solutions for our clients.”
Walker joined Instinctif as CEO last year – after six years in-house as chief communications officer at global travel management company CWT – following the departure of Ed Amory , with Jim Donaldson, former UK and Middle East CEO of FleishmanHillard, becoming non-executive chair. Earlier this year, the firm sold its MENA business to Italian group Excellera.
Team Lewis works with clients including Schneider Electric, TomTom and John Crane.
