Meeting To Discuss Plans For King Hussein Bridge's Development
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, Sept. 25 (Petra)-- The overall plan to construct the King Hussein Bridge border crossing, which connects Jordan to the occupied Palestinian territories, was addressed by Minister of Investment Tariq Abu Ghazaleh, Minister of Public Works and Housing Maher Abu Samen, and Minister of Interior Mazen Faraya. This is a component of government initiatives to improve border crossing efficiency and ease the flow of people and products.
The two ministers stressed during the meeting how critical it is to move quickly to establish new passenger and cargo terminals and buildings at the King Hussein Bridge. In addition to boosting the national economy, this project will be crucial in reducing traffic at the crossings and raising the standard of services offered to traders and passengers.
Allocating the required piece of land for the project will help to speed up the implementation stages, according to preliminary studies of the plan that were examined at the meeting and completed by engineers from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing. To lessen the financial strain on the treasury, the project might potentially be implemented in collaboration with the private sector or with the help of specialist investors.
The two ministers underlined that the project is in line with government directions to improve border crossing infrastructure, resulting in increased freight and passenger traffic and solidifying Jordan's status as a key entry point to the region.
