PAL Next AG: First Half of 2025 in Line with Expectations

Munich, 24 September 2025. PAL Next AG (Xetra symbol: PAL ; ISIN: DE000A12UPJ7 ) recorded revenue and earnings performance in the first half of 2025 that was largely shaped by intensified production activity. As productions are scheduled for completion in the second half of the year, revenues in the first half of 2025 amounted to EUR 0.6 million (H1 2024: EUR 1.2 million). The Group's total operating performance, including other operating income and changes in inventories from projects under development, amounted to EUR 0.9 million (H1 2024: EUR 1.5 million). Despite lower revenues, EBIT improved significantly to EUR -1.4 million (H1 2024: EUR -2.2 million) driven by a strict focus on the core business and consistent cost optimization. Personnel expenses declined from EUR 1.2 million to EUR 0.9 million.

A key innovation driver within the PAL Next Group continues to be its subsidiary Storybook Studios, which achieved significant progress in the first half of 2025 in developing hybrid production methods. The goal is to establish proprietary workflows that combine artificial intelligence with human storytelling, enabling projects that are both commercially viable and scalable.

Following an intensive production and post-production phase in the first half-year, several major releases from PANTALEON Films are scheduled for the remainder of the year. DER TIGER (The Tiger) was released in German cinemas on 18 September 2025, and will stream worldwide on Prime Video at year-end. NO HIT WONDER, a tragicomedy starring Florian David Fitz and Nora Tschirner, will premiere in cinemas on 30 October 2025. DAS LEBEN DER WÜNSCHE (The Life of Wishes), a drama starring Matthias Schweighöfer, will follow on 13 November 2025. In addition, the second season of ASBEST, the successful crime drama series, will return to ARD Mediathek before the end of the year.

2025 revenue guidance confirmed – earnings range slightly adjusted

Based on business performance in the first half of 2025 and the current project pipeline, the Executive Board has slightly adjusted its outlook for the 2025 financial year. The PAL Next Group continues to expect revenues between EUR 21 million and EUR 23 million. The Group's total operating performance, including other operating income, is forecast at a minimum of EUR 24 million. For EBIT, the Company now expects a range between EUR -500 thousand and EUR +200 thousand (previously: EUR -300 thousand to EUR +200 thousand).
