Crown Prince Discusses Regional Developments, Efforts To Restore Stability With US Congress Members

Washington, DC, Sept. 19 (Petra)-- During meetings held with US Congress members in Washington, DC, on Thursday, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II affirmed that Jordan is making every effort to restore calm and stability in the region.
His Royal Highness warned of the danger of plans aimed at displacing Palestinians and depriving them of their legitimate rights, emphasizing that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve peace.
The Crown Prince asserted Jordan's religious and historical responsibility, under the Hashemite Custodianship, to safeguard Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, as well as its role in preserving the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ in Jordan.
The meetings also covered Jordan's economic development plans, with His Royal Highness affirming ongoing modernization efforts.
The Crown Prince highlighted key future economic projects, such as the Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination and Conveyance Project, and the use of technology and artificial intelligence in health, education, and government services, in addition to plans to boost Jordan's position as a hub for emerging technology companies.
His Royal Highness emphasized the importance of continuing to enhance trade between Jordan and the US, calling for expanding the benefits of existing trade agreements between the two countries.
The Crown Prince's meetings on Thursday were with Chairperson of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee Representative Brian Mast, Chairperson of the Senate Budget Committee Senator Lindsey Graham, Chair of the Senate Homeland Security Subcommittee Senator Katie Britt, Senator Markwayne Mullin, Representative Lisa McClain, Chair of the House Republican Conference Representative Elise Stefanik, and Representative Greg Landsman, member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
Jordan's Ambassador to the United States Dina Kawar, and Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain attended the meetings.
