Kuwaiti Consul Affirms Commitment To Belt, Road Initiative At Hong Kong Summit

HONG KONG, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- The Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Hong Kong and Macau, Ambassador Naser Saqer Al-Ghanim stressed on Thursday his countryآ's commitment to the goals of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), affirming Kuwaitآ's early participation since 2014 and its alignment with the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035.
In a statement for KUNA during his participation in the Belt and Road Summit, the Consul underlined that Kuwait values the efforts made in organizing this major international gathering, and is keen on effective participation through diverse Kuwaiti delegations from both public and private sectors, represented by the Ministry of Finance, Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC).
Consul Al-Ghanim expressed his appreciation for the Organizers of the Belt and Road Summit, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), all Kuwaiti delegations for participating in this event as it reflects Kuwaitآ's commitment to the goals of the Belt and Road Initiative.
He highlighted Kuwaitآ's focus on strategic sectors such as infrastructure, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, green technology, trade, investment, and innovation, describing them as vital drivers for sustainable growth and building smart cities.
The Consul also noted the importance of collective action in addressing global challenges, including cybersecurity risks, digital divides, economic volatility, and geopolitical tensions, calling for strengthened regional and international partnerships to secure supply chains and enhance cooperation.
He reaffirmed Kuwaitآ's policy of openness and its favorable investment climate, urging international partners to seize opportunities in major development projects under Vision 2035.
Consul Al-Ghanim concluded his speech by emphasizing Kuwaitآ's stability, strategic location, and strong investment capacity as factors that make it a unique regional and global hub, expressing readiness to boost cooperation and achieve mutual benefit with Belt and Road partners. (end)
