Industrial Production Rises 1.72% In First Seven Months Of 2025

Amman, Sept. 11 (Petra) – The Department of Statistics said Thursday that the general index of industrial production quantities rose by 1.72 percent in the first seven months of 2025 compared with the same period of 2024.
On a monthly basis, the index rose by 1.23 percent in July 2025 compared with July 2024, and by 1.96 percent compared with June 2025. The base year was adjusted to 2018=100 instead of 2010=100.
The industrial production index reached 88.35 points in the January–July 2025 period, compared with 86.86 points in the same period of 2024. For July 2025, the index reached 91.83 points, compared with 90.72 points in July 2024 and 90.07 points in June 2025.
Cumulative figures showed that the manufacturing industries sector grew by 1.82 percent, with a relative importance of 88.7 percent, while electricity production rose by 2.42 percent, with a relative importance of 5.9 percent. In contrast, the extractive industries sector dropped by 1.66 percent, with a relative importance of 5.4 percent.
On a monthly basis, the rise in July 2025 was driven by a 1.23 percent increase in manufacturing, a 3.20 percent increase in extractive industries, and a 0.59 percent decline in electricity production.
Compared with June 2025, production in July grew by 1.06 percent in manufacturing, 0.53 percent in extractive industries, and 17.90 percent in electricity.
