CAIRO, Sept 5 (KUNA) -- Arab foreign ministers on Friday rejected any proposals that threaten the sovereignty or territorial integrity of Arab states, stressing the need to end Israel's occupation of Palestinian and Arab lands.
The decision was issued under the title "A Common Vision for Security and Cooperation in the Region" at the conclusion of the Arab League Council's 164th session, held in Cairo under the leadership of the United Arab Emirates.
The resolution also called for protecting Palestinian rights, stopping demographic changes in occupied territories, and advancing regional cooperation and peaceful conflict resolution.
It further highlighted the importance of nuclear non-proliferation, placing all regional nuclear facilities under international oversight, and establishing a Middle East free of weapons of mass destruction.
The resolution stressed regional cooperation based on respect for sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, and peaceful conflict resolution.
Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit noted that the resolution was introduced by Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and included key provisions aimed at addressing security, peace, and development challenges in the region.(end)
