Ukraine Strikes Syzran Oil Refinery In Russia, General Staff Confirms
“Hits and detonations have been recorded in the area of the facility. Assessment of the damage is ongoing,” the statement reads.
The Syzran refinery has a design capacity of up to 8.5 million tons of oil per year, representing approximately 3.08% of Russia's total oil refining capacity.
The facility produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and other petroleum products, which are supplied to Russian military units.
“The Defense Forces of Ukraine systematically carry out actions aimed at reducing the combat potential of Russian troops, destabilizing their logistical capabilities - particularly in fuel and lubricants - and compelling Russia to cease armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff stated.
