Ukraine Tests Homegrown Long-Range Flamingo Missile

(MENAFN) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Thursday that Ukraine has achieved a major milestone by successfully test-firing a domestically developed long-range missile, known as the Flamingo, according to a news agency.

"There were successful tests of this missile. So far, the missile is the most successful we have -- it flies 3,000 km, this is important," Zelensky emphasized, underscoring the significance of the missile’s extended range capability.

The president further revealed that Ukraine anticipates receiving additional missiles by December of this year. Plans are already underway for mass production of the Flamingo missile to commence by February 2026, marking a critical step in boosting the country’s defense capabilities amid ongoing regional tensions.
