Eurozone Annual Inflation Slows to 2 Percent

(MENAFN) According to official data released on Wednesday by Eurostat, the annual inflation rate in the euro area stood at 2% in July, compared to 2.4% across the entire European Union.

Eurostat highlighted that the largest factor contributing to the yearly inflation rate in the euro area was services.

This was followed by increases in prices for food, alcohol, tobacco, and non-energy industrial goods.

When compared to June 2025, annual inflation decreased in eight member countries, remained unchanged in six, and climbed in thirteen, Eurostat reported.

The lowest yearly inflation rates were recorded in the Greek Cypriot Administration at 0.1%, France at 0.9%, and Ireland at 1.6%.

On the other hand, the highest annual inflation figures were observed in Romania (6.6%), Estonia (5.6%), and Slovakia (4.6%).

The eurozone, also referred to as the euro area or EA20, consists of EU countries that have adopted the euro as their official currency.
