(MENAFN) China successfully sent a new group of low Earth orbit satellites into space on Wednesday, advancing its growing internet constellation, according to a local news agency.

The launch took place at the Wenchang Space Launch Site, situated in the southern island province of Hainan, marking another significant milestone in China’s ambitious space infrastructure efforts.

At precisely 2:43 p.m. local time (0643 GMT), a domestically developed Long March-5B carrier rocket carried the satellites into orbit, where they were successfully deployed into their designated positions.

This launch represents the eighth deployment of such satellite groups, reinforcing China’s expanding low Earth orbit internet network aimed at enhancing global connectivity. Additionally, it was the 588th mission for the Long March series of rockets, underscoring the reliability and extensive use of China’s launch vehicles.
