Gaza Bleeds: Israeli Atrocious Airstrikes Kill Over Five Palestinians
(MENAFN) More than five Palestinians lost their lives and several others sustained injuries on Tuesday following a fresh wave of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, according to a Palestinian news agency.
Among the fatalities were five civilians who died when Israeli warplanes struck a home in the Shati refugee camp, located west of Gaza City. Several people remain unaccounted for beneath the debris.
In a separate incident, another Israeli strike hit tents housing displaced residents in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, also in western Gaza. That attack resulted in multiple civilian casualties, including children, with both deaths and injuries reported.
Despite mounting global pressure to implement a ceasefire, Israel has continued its intense military campaign in Gaza, which began in late October 2023. The offensive has so far claimed the lives of nearly 58,400 Palestinians—many of them women and children.
The ongoing bombardment has devastated infrastructure across the enclave, triggering severe food shortages and the rapid spread of disease.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza.
Israel is also the subject of a genocide case currently being heard at the International Court of Justice.
