Massive Rescue Op Launched For Missing Yatri On Baltal Route

(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Srinagar- Authorities on Saturday launched a massive rescue operation to trace out a pilgrim who is suspected to have fallen in a nallah (rivulet) near Railpathri along the Baltal route to the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.

Official sources said that the rescue operation is being carried out jointly by Mountain Rescue Teams (MRTs) of JKAP, SDRF, ITBP and local police to find out the missing Yatri namely Surinder Pal Arora son of Gain Chand Arora of Ludhiana, reported news agency GNS.

Confirming it, a senior police officer said that the yatri would probably have fallen in the water body due to“altitude sickness and perplexity”.

“The massive rescue operation is underway and hopefully the Yatri will be found very soon,” the officer added.
