US Diplomat Expresses Approval of Lebanon’s Reaction
(MENAFN) On Monday, the United States representative to Syria, Tom Barrack, voiced his contentment with Lebanon's reaction to his outlined plan for the disarmament of the Hezbollah organization.
He stated that he is “satisfied” with how Lebanese officials have responded to the proposal.
Following a meeting with President Joseph Aoun, Barrack described the discussions as “very satisfactory” and noted his appreciation for what he called Lebanon’s “balanced response.”
His remarks were reported by an official news service.
Barrack emphasized that the United States does not intend to impose directives on Lebanon regarding its approach to Hezbollah.
Instead, he clarified that the US aims to adopt a position of encouragement and backing rather than enforcement.
